“Um dia, uma ave” – Coruja-do-mato

Esta espécie de coruja escolhe as florestas, parques e bosques junto de áreas agrícolas para nidificar. As árvores de eleição para construir o seu ninho são as de folha caduca, em especial carvalhos antigos. É uma ave notígava que se alimenta de pequenos roedores e de insectos, recorrendo à sua agilidade em voo e à sua visão nocturna. Quando cuida das suas crias é territorial e demonstra níveis de agressividade maior. O seu canto é inconfundível e audível a grande distância – “huuuuuh…hu”.

This species of owl chooses forests, parks and woods near agricultural areas to nest. The trees of choice to build the nest are deciduous, especially ancient oaks.
